Break-A-Way Bolt With EPDM Washer

An assembly including the break-a-way feature of a Vandlgard-Nut, intended for mounting metal signs to bolt-on or strap-on brackets.

Wrenching element breaks off at pre-determined torque, most secure method of mounting sign to bracket. Tightness is not determined by judgment of installer. Remaining portion of head is tapered, cannot be removed with pliers and has an attractive finish. Die-cast head from zinc alloy no corrosion on sign face. Packed in bags of 100 for better inventory control. Lot number On each bag is traceable to raw materials.

5/16-18 X 1/2 Break-A-Way Bolt

Tufnut

A uniquely shaped, tamper resistant, case hardened steel nut. Installed and removed with an open end or crescent wrench by a simple procedure by authorized persons possessing a second identical nut. Available in #10 through 1/2" diameters in UNC and Metric thread sizes. Appropriate for GR2 or GR5 bolts.

It's truncated pyramidal shape can't be removed with normal hand tools, an identical nut has to be paired for removal. Case hardened steel, yields high strength threads, resists mutilation. A zinc yellow chromate plating helps give excellent corrosion resistance. Installed and removed with same simple nut reversed. Infinitely reusable, tightness is determined by installer, no pre-determined torque for breakoff. Nuts are packed in boxes of 102, for better inventory control, and the two extra nuts are for installation.
